- Story Text: Former Smashing Pumpkins frontman, Billy Corgan
introduces first single from his solo album.
With his first solo album after splitting from the
Smashing Pumpkins, former front man Billy Corgan is touring
the world. He will be introducing his "The Future Embrace"
to Fans in Europe, North America, Australia and New
Zealand.
On Saturday (June 11), Corgan played Colognes Live
Music Hall. Bald as always but sounding much more tender
than fans might have expected, the 38-year old played songs
like "Walking Shade" and Mina Loy" from his new album.
Recorded in Chicago, "The Future Embrace" was
co-produced by Corgan and features, apart from a Bee-Gees
Cover of "To Love Somebody" eleven new songs. It will hit
the shops on June 21. "I smack a baby on the rear end and
the baby cries. It's the sound, it's the breath of life.
Everything we do has a sonic component. So we are just
organising that sound into something that is representative
of the range of human emotions," Corgan said of his solo
musical efforts.
Directed by P.R. Brown, the video for the first single
of the album, "Walking Shade" in which Corgan seems lost in
a surreal Victorian underworld, surrounded by 3-D-effects.
