- Story Text: Thirteen million cranberries formed the Canadian Olympic symbol on Monday (February 8) a few days before the start of the 2010 Winter Games.
Cranberries, Canada's largest crop, were used to form the 3,200 square metre (34,444 square feet) floating tribute to the Winter Games. The tart fruit display will be on display through the Games.
Le Savarese, who was working to fill the oversized bog, told Reuters "It's exciting, and we're having a lot of fun doing it, a lot of hard work, but its a lot of fun too."
The berries will be used for fertilizer after the Games. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
