- Story Text: The International Cycling Union's (UCI) independent commission into the Lance Armstrong affair began an extraordinay meeting in central London on Friday (January 25).
Among those to arrive at the Law Society building was the head of the UCI, Irishman Pat McQuaid.
The central issue facing the commission is whether to include a process of truth and reconciliation during its inquiry, to persuade riders to come forward with information without the fear of being punished.
The UCI opposes such a process, which is backed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
