- Story Text: British film director Lynne Ramsay, know for her 2011 movie, "We Need to Talk about Kevin" has been the centre of a movie industry storm on Thursday (March 21) after failing to turn up on the first day of shooting for her new film in Santa Fe, New Mexico, according to entertainment publication, The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, "Jane Got a Gun" which stars Natalie Portman in the lead role, has already suffered a recent significant setback when Michael Fassbender had to pull out because of scheduling conflicts with the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
Now, in addition to Ramsay's no-show, Jude Law, who flew in to replace Fassbender, has also reportedly pulled out as he'd signed on to work with Ramsay and she was no longer attached to the project.
Natalie Portman, who is also a producer on the film, appears to remain in the lead role.
Scott Steindorff, another producer on the film, according to deadline.com, gave this statement.
"I have millions of dollars invested, we're ready to shoot, we have a great script, crew and cast. I'm shocked and so disappointed someone would do this to 150 crew members who devoted so much time, energy, commitment and loyalty to a project, and then have the director not show up. It is insane somebody would do this to other people. I feel more for the crew and their families, but we are keeping the show going on, directors are flying in, and a replacement is imminent."
The replacement is reported to be Gavin O'Connor, the director of "Warrior".
