- Story Text: Two refugees went on trial in Munich on Thursday (March 30), accused of membership in a "terrorist organisation".
A spokeswoman for Munich's higher regional court said that 22-year-old Azad R. and 24-year-old Kamel T.H.J. were suspected of fighting for Syrian Islamist rebel group Ahrar al-Sham near Aleppo between 2013 and 2014.
She added that after one of the defendants was injured during fighting, both went to Turkey before travelling on to Germany as refugees in June 2015.
If convicted, they could face up to ten years in prison. - Copyright Holder: POOL (CAN SELL)
