- Story Text: An Opinionway poll published on Monday (April 17) has predicted centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron will win France's presidential election.
The poll pits Macron against far-right candidate Marine Le Pen in the second round of the election, due to be held on May 7.
The first round is set for Sunday (April 23). Opinionway has predicted that Macron and Le Pen will both take 22 percent of the vote, conservative candidate Francois Fillon will take 21 percent and far-left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon will take 18 percent.
The poll suggests Macron would then take 64 percent to Le Pen's 36 percent in the run-off vote. Francois Fillon would beat Marine Le Pen in run-off vote by 60 percent to 40 percent if Francois Fillon made it through to second round, according to the poll. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
