- Story Text: The North Vietnamese Peace negotiator, Mr. Le Duc The, arrived in Paris, France, on Monday (17 December), where he is due to have a day of talks with the United States Secretary of State, Dr. Henry Kissinger. Dr. Kissinger was due to meet him or the talks on Thursday (20 December).
Le Due The said on his arrival that his Government would resume full military action in South Vietnam if the United States continued its military aid to the Saigon government. He accused the United States of sending "massive military aid" to the South Vietnamese, and of sending numerous American military advisers into the country disguised as civilians.
Mr. The told reporters "You can say that the war is continuing in South Vietnam." His talks with Dr. Kissinger will deal with the Ceasefire Agreement that has been contravened many times since it was signed.
The two men signed the agreement on January 27 this year, after having negotiated for peace for four years. It will be their third Conference in Paris since the agreement was signed. They last met in June to agree to improving implementation of the Peace Treaty.
Mr. The emphasised that this week's meeting will be held at the request of Washington, not Hanoi.
