- Story Text: INTRO: Tension is rising between Serbs and Moslem refugeesin the Moslem-held town of Celic, near Tuzla, in Bosnia.
------------------------------------------------------------------ Up to 400 Serbs armed with handguns, sticks and stones on Tuesday (April 30) blocked about 150 Moslem refugees from returning to the Serb-held town of Koraj.
The Serbs were waiting on their side of the boundary that runs just east of Celic.
United Nations (U.N.) and IFOR (Protection Force) officials said the Serbs refused to let the party of Moslems through.
UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) field officer Margarethe Prins said the situation was "extremely tense" and could develop into serious violence.
Some five to six hundred Moslems, mostly unarmed civilians, had massed from around 9:00 a.m. (0700 GMT) on their side of the boundary line which marks the division between the Moslem-Croat Federation and the Serb's Republika Srpska.
Four Russian IFOR tanks and several United States (U.S.) and Russian vehicles were blocking two roads at the site.
Officials said a Russian commander was refusing to let anyone cross the 100 metres (yards) of no man's land separating the two groups.
