- Story Text: INTRO: Hague war crimes tribunal investigators in Bosnia on Monday (September 2) found a mass grave containing the bodies of more than 50 Moslem civilians.
Investigators excavating the grave in the village of Lazete, near Srebrenica, said they believed there was proof that the bodies are those of Moslems executed after fleeing the Eastern Bosnian town and former UN safe haven when it fell into hands of the Bosnin Serb army during the summer of 1995.
Investigation team leader Bill Haglund said there may be move than 50 bodies buried at Lazete and that the grave was very deep.
He said the investigation work had only just begun.
The bodies unearthed by the excavation team were blindfolded with their hands tied.
This mass grave site is one of the biggest in the area and the team is said to have found strong evidence of war crimes.
