- Story Text: Injured U.S. soldiers from Sunday's helicopter
attack in Iraq have arrived at the American airbase in
Germany.
Injured U.S. soldiers from Sunday's (November 2)
helicopter attack in Iraq arrived at the American airbase
in Germany early on Monday (November 3).
Eighteen of the 21 injured when the Chinook was shot
down in a field near Fallujah, west of Baghdad, were on
board the aircraft which landed at Ramstein airbase.
Fifteen colleagues were killed in the bloodiest attack
against the U.S. army in Iraq since it invaded the country.
The injured will be transported to Landstuhl medical
centre, the largest military medical centre outside the
United States.
It was the third time guerrillas had brought down a
U.S. helicopter since U.S. President George W. Bush
declared major combat over in Iraq on May 1.
