- Story Text: Intel CEO Craig Barrett discusses latest trends at
Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show.
At this year's 2005 Consumer Electronics Show in Las
Vegas, the theme is bigger and better. That's especially
true when it comes to the dazzling array of television's
that are set to bring the digital age into your living
room. Intel CEO Craig Barrett said its what everyone is
ready for.
"The big displays are very nice and that helps
personalise what you're doing and if you can put it up on a
big display, and especially if it is a big, flat panel
which hangs on the wall, real life size, and especially if
you can take it off your PC and just stream it right to
your monitor, to see it happens, what could be better than
that", said Barrett.
For the past several years, industrial heavyweights like
Barrett and Ebay's Meg Whitman talked about the approaching
revolution, one the experts say will change the way we live
through the seamless convergence of technology.
XM Satellite is one of the companies taking advantage of
the technology by mass marketing a portable hand held device that
allows users to take their favourite music with them on the road.
The technology will also be soon helping make the roads
safer with automakers using cameras to monitor back seat
passengers, on coming traffic and other hazards.
Ultimately, the biggest differences at this year's show is
that the talk of the space age future may actually be here.
