- Story Text: French Paris Saint Germain team appeared on the field
for the first time with its new coach, Luis Fernandez, against
Galatasaray on the second round of Champions League in
Istanbul.
Galatasaray SK defeated Paris Saint Germain (PSG) 1-0
after a Champions League second round clash in Istanbul
on Wednesday (December 6).
Galatasaray SK coach Mircea Lucescu told to reporters that
it was a triumph and added "Suffering to achieve this triumph
made it a greater one, it was a very hard match for us."
The event was the first match for Luis Fernandez who has
already began to train the Paris team.
Fernandez said that the team had been in a bad position so
he needed his team to play more matches to set his strategy
out.
"But in Paris there will be a different team, you will
see." said Fernandez at the press conference.
The only goal of the match was scored by Umit Davala on
the 51st minute by penalty.
After Matchday 2 in Group B Galatasaray SK holds the
leader position with 4 points and +1 goal average. PSG
stayed at the bottom without any points and -3 goal average.
