- Story Text: A second Court hearing has taken place in Turkey for
18 year-old German Andrea Rholoff, who was stopped at
Izmir airport with six kilos of heroin in her possession.
Eighteen year-old German tourist Andrea Rohloff, caught
with the heroin at the Aegean city of Izmir's Adnan Menderes
Airport, appeared for the second time on Thursday(April 19)
for hearings at the Izmir State Security Court.
The court refused a request from Rohloff's lawyers to free
her. "We will renew our request for a release. We won't make
our defence today but just make sure that papers requested in
the previous hearing arrived," said her lawyer Ulku Caner.
The next hearing in the case was then postponed until May
15 while paperwork is processed.
Two of Andrea Rohloff's friends came from Germany to
attend the court and give support. "It is my first time in
Turkey. I don't think she is guilty. I hope she will be soon
released and come back home." said Adrienne Lauds, a friend of
Andrea.
Rohloff says that while travelling between the Turkish
cities of Antalya and Izmir, she noticed heroin in her
possession. She had intended to travel to Nepal before she was
arrested.
