- Story Text: Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong met nine cancer
sufferers just hours after finishing the final stage of the
race in the French capital.
Armstrong, who is recovering from the testicular
cancer with which he was diagnosed in 1996, signed the Charter
of Paris Against Cancer, a worldwide campaign calling for
action to beat the disease and called on people to sign the
charter on the www.CharterAgainstCancer website.
Armstrong, who won the race for the second consecutive
year, recently launched a cancer education campaign called
Cycle of Hope.
He was treated with three anti-cancer drugs produced by a
company which were part sponsors of his Tour de France team,
the US Postal Service.
