- Story Text: Seven Serbs have died and 23 were injured in Kosovo
when a bus they were travelling in was blown up by a remote
control device, international peacekeepers said.
The bus, travelling from the city of Nis in Serbia
to the Serb-majority town Podujevo in Kosovo was attacked on
Friday morning (February 16) shortly after it crossed the
boundary into the troubled province, said a KFOR spokesman.
It was the second attack on a Serb convoy this week.
A British brigadier, Robert Fry, described the attack as
"utterly indiscriminate". He went on to say: "There were men,
women and children travelling on that bus and whoever
perpetrated this did so with complete disregard for human life
and also for the reputation of the people of Kosovo in a wider
world."
Four Serbs were killed in a second attack on another bus
escorted by international peacekeepers in Kosovo on Friday, a
U.N. spokeswoman said.
Two days ago a Serb man was killed and two children were
injured when a gunman attacked their bus near Strpce.
