- Story Text: An oil fire is ablaze near the northern Iraqi city
of Mosul.
An oil pipeline was ablaze in Hadar near the
northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Tuesday (November 25).
Eyewitnesses said it had been sabotaged earlier in the day.
Pipeline sabotage has become a major problem for the
U.S.-run coalition and its Iraqi partners as they try to
revive the country's giant petroleum industry.
There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military
about possible casualties.
On Monday (November 24) an oil pipeline near the
northern city of Kirkuk was on fire. That fire was also
believed to be caused by sabotage.
