- Summary: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (MARCH 04, 2014) (REUTERS) VARIOUS OF MEMBERS OF THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS, LINKIN PARK, AND AFI ON STAGE (SOUNDBITE) (English) JARED LETO SAYING: "To stand on the stage in front of the Linkin Park army out there. I think it's going to be absolute insanity." MEDIA CONFERENCE (SOUNDBITE) (English) JARED LETO SAYING: "This announcement is being broadcast right now on Vyrt.com, which is really a platform where bands can share their concerts with fans all over the world in a social way. So it's a fun way to watch live events online. Hopefully there will be a show that we're going to broadcast for all the people that won't be in America to see this tour - people that are in Russia, Brazil, Germany and the U.K. and in Asia." (SOUNDBITE) (English) MIKE SHINODA, LINKIN PARK MEMBER, SAYING: "We just made the decision yesterday and thank God it was Jared because I don't know if Jonah Hill can sing. We just said, whoever wins the Oscar, that's who we're taking on tour. We're kind of lucky that it turned out this way. (Leto says, "McConaughey can play those bongos, bother.") Bring him along. The thing that made it worthwhile is that his speech was crazy good. When this guy got up there, I was just so proud to be, and knowing this was going on, to be like, that's the kind of guy that we're going out on the road with. The things you said were really nice, really beautiful. It made me feel even more like this was a great think to be doing. I'm so stoked to get on the road with these guys and AFI and I know it's going to be a great summer."

- Story Text: Jared Leto's recent Oscar win for his supporting role in "Dallas Buyer Club" should see him getting plenty of job offers in Hollywood. However the actor and musician announced on Tuesday (March 04) that he and his band, Thirty Seconds To Mars, will instead be hitting the road for a joint tour with Linkin Park and AFI.
"To stand on the stage in front of the Linkin Park army out there. I think it's going to be absolute insanity," Leto told members of the media at a Los Angeles panel discussion featuring various members of the bands.
"This announcement is being broadcast right now on Vyrt.com, which is really a platform where bands can share their concerts with fans all over the world in a social way. So it's a fun way to watch live events online. Hopefully there will be a show that we're going to broadcast for all the people that won't be in America to see this tour - people that are in Russia, Brazil, Germany and the U.K. and in Asia."
Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda also expressed his excitement over the tour.
"I'm so stoked to get on the road with these guys and AFI and I know it's going to be a great summer."
The tour is set to kick off in West Palm Beach, Florida on August 8 and hit various North American venues until it wraps on September 19 in Concord, California. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
