- Story Text: The golf world on Friday (February 19) learned only part of what it wanted to know from Tiger Woods, the sport's leading player and biggest draw--he intends to come back, but did not say when.
The 14-times major champion had been widely expected to disclose details of his PGA Tour comeback when he issued a public apology in Florida for his marital infidelity.
Woods, the most marketable figure in sports, took an indefinite break from golf when his private life spectacularly unraveled after a bizarre car accident in late November and multiple allegations of extra-marital affairs.
Players and fans had speculated Woods might make his return in the coming months but that now appears in doubt.
"Well I knew he wasn't going to say when he was going to come back. He's still dealing with some of his stuff and he'll do it in his own timeframe. We all want Tiger back. I mean, Tiger's great for the game. We all want to continue to watch his quest to catch Jack and keep winning majors," Camilo Villegas told reporters after his round at the WGC Accenture Match Play tournament in Arizona.
British golfer Oliver Wilson said: "I'm glad he came out and said something but I just think everyone should get on with their own lives now and let him get on with his. We just want to get him back on the course." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
