- Story Text: Incumbent Graham Henry has been retained as the All Blacks head coach, the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) said on Friday.
Henry, 61, beat off the challenge of favourite Robbie Deans and Super 14 coaches Colin Cooper and Ian Foster for the job, which is considered the most scrutinised in world rugby. Deans had been widely tipped by local media for the job after Henry's heavily-favoured All Blacks side crashed out of the World Cup finals in October.
The NZRU said, despite the World Cup loss, Henry was still the best man for the job.
Henry, who was reappointed for a two year term, said he was grateful for the chance to continue.
New Zealand has won 42 of 48 matches under Henry, taking the Tri-Nations title in 2005, 2006 and 2007, completing a series whitewash against the British and Irish Lions and a grand slam over England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
