- Story Text: South Korean model Daul Kim was found hanged in her Paris apartment on Thursday, a spokeswoman for the city prosecutor's office said.
Police were investigating the cause of the 20-year-old's death and said it was most likely that she committed suicide, the prosecutor's spokeswoman told Reuters on Friday.
Kim's body was found on Thursday morning in her apartment in Paris by a male friend, who alerted the police.
Patrick Lemire and Guillaume Terrasson knew her well. Daul Kim used to be one of their models and they remember her as determined:
"We are now shocked and deeply sad. We found out about Daul's death yesterday, Guillaume was working with her a lot so, yes we're shocked," said Lemire.
"We're really surprised because she had strong character, she was very creative and was energetic..."added Terrasson.
"She is a real artist, a model with character, she's not at all a weak girl..." said Lemire.
"She was someone who was master of her destiny so it's a bit strange and we're very surprised." Terrasson said.
"You see people who put an end to their lives everywhere and in every profession. So the press will start to mix everything, why not write books while we're at it, let's be reasonable and stop this, people who are sad and are suffering can be seen in every sector." Lemire said.
Kim, who modelled for Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Dries Van Noten and Maison Martin Margiela, made her debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2007, according to fashion magazine Vogue's website, www.vogue.com.
