  • Story Text: Colombian singer and national hero, Carlos Vives, presented the latest volume in his series of children's books at the Bogota Book Fair on Thursday (April 27).
    Adoring fans - parents and children - flocked to the fair on its second day, in search of an autograph, or even just a glance of the Grammy Award-winning musician, famous for the national Valletano style.
    Vives, whose second children's book draws on the tales of 19th Century Colombian poet, Rafael Pombo, said literature is nourishment for children's minds, and encouraged families to attend the event together.
    The two-week fair will also feature talks from members of the disarming Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), as the country reaches the sixth month of implementing a peace deal signed between the government and the rebel group late last year.
