- Story Text: Alex Pettyfer stars as a mysterious teen attempting to establish a new life for himself while hiding his true identity in the sci-fi thriller, "I Am Number Four."
John Smith, otherwise known as Number Four, is an extraterrestrial teenager discovering new super powers as he comes of age. However, he is also the target of Mogadorians, enemy aliens attempting to destroy Number Four and his alien companions, three of which have already been eliminated.
Newcomer, Pettyfer, is best known for his role in the spy adventure film "Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker." Pettyfer says he was excited to take up this new role.
"It was very overwhelming. I had a very very good time and it was an opportunity I couldn't miss," said Pettyfer.
Co-starring with Petyfer is Dianna Argon, best known for her starring role in "Glee." The young star says that the film has left her wanting more action roles.
"I was still able to do some stunts which was so much fun and, just seeing what went into everything was so fascinating. And, I've gotten the adrenaline kick from what I did do and would love to, at some point, do some more."
"I Am Number Four" is directed by DJ Caruso, who also directed "Disturbia" and "Eagle Eye" and co-stars Timothy Olyphant and Australian actress Teresa Palmer. The film is an adaptation of the young adult science fiction novel by the same name. It is the first of a proposed six-novel story written by James Frey and Jobie Hughes under the pen name of Pittacus Lore.
