- Story Text: The frontrunner in the race for the French conservatives' presidential nomination Francois Fillon cast his vote on Sunday (November 27).
Polls suggest the winner of the primary is likely to face, and beat, the far right's Marine Le Pen in elections to be hold in spring 2017.
Trailing his rivals in the polls for many months, former prime minister Fillon benefited from a late surge before last Sunday's first round, emerging in first place against long-time favourite Alain Juppe.
The results of the primary vote are expected late on Sunday evening. - Copyright Holder: POOL (CAN SELL)
