- Story Text: Israeli forces shot and wounded three Palestinians the army said were preparing to launch rockets at Israel on Wednesday (March 28).
Israeli ground forces fired at and hit "three terrorists who had two rocket launchers" near the border fence, an Israeli army spokesman said.
A Palestinian hospital official said four people were wounded in the Israeli attack, two of them seriously.
Israel halted such attacks in the Gaza Strip when it declared a ceasefire with militants in the territory in November.
But Islamic Jihad rejected the truce and have continued to launch rockets at southern Israel in recent months.
In Gaza city, several thousands of Palestinian supporters of various militant factions rallied against concessions they expect are being made at the Arab summit in Saudi Arabia.
"This demonstration is to send the voice of resistance to the Arab leaders meeting in Al Riyad, the Palestinians are determined to continue resistance," said Islamic Jihad Leader Nafez Azzam. "The summit's decisions should support the Palestinian steadfirmness and should oppose the adherence to the American and Israeli demands and pressures."
Earlier, the Islamic Jihad militant group distributed video of rockets being launched towards Israel but Israeli media reports said they landed in open fields. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
