- Story Text: Bernard Henri-Levy, the French philosopher credited with nudging President Nicolas Sarkozy into taking military action in Libya welcomed on Thursday (October 20) reports that Muammar Gadaffi's body had been taken into custody by Libyan rebels.
"At the moment in which we're speaking, there's no other source of confirmation and no other confirmation that that of the National Transition Council. So I think one should treat the news with the necessary prudence. But what is confirmed is that this dictatorship is over, that this war is finished and that the NTC now has a clear road in front of it. The Gaddafi mortgage has been lifted. The NTC now has a clear path to start building democracy in Libya. We're certain of that," he told Reuters Television.
