A British suspect is wanted by the Myanmar authorities after his British colleague was found dead in his apartment in central Yangon, Myanmar media said on Monday (November 7).
Peter Gary Ferguson, a 47-year-old teacher in Yangon's Horizon International School, was found dead with several wounds in the head and chest on Sunday (November 6), authorities said.
Myanmar police were seeking to interrogate 25-year-old Harris Binotti, who was last seen together with Ferguson on Friday (November 4) evening, according to local media reports.
British media reported that the Burmese neighbours said they heard the two arguing.
Local reporters in Yangon threw questions at Binotti's friends seen getting into a taxi outside Ferguson's apartment on Monday, who left without speaking to the media.
Myanmar state media reported Binotti had left the country on Saturday (November 5) evening.
Myanmar authorities said an investigation was underway.
British media, citing Myanmar police, said Interpol would take over the search for Binotti. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
