Not all the wards were occupied because of renovations. The care-personal and the first fire-fighters met people crying out for help who were then evacuated. One can only thank those people for their dedication, otherwise it could have been much more tragic." Of course now there is also a lot of water-damage because of the water used extinguishing the fire. The fire is not totally put out but it is under control. The very difficult roof construction made out of meal hindered a few remaining fire sources from being extinguished." FIREFIGHTING OPERATIONS ON SMOKING ROOF (SOUNDBITE) (German) INTERIOR MINISTER OF NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA, RALF JAEGER, SAYING: "Two people have died. One was found at the probable source of the fire. (There were also) 14 injured, 6 of them seriously. We could treat almost all of them here at the hospital, two had to be flown out to a special hospital in Aachen. We got off rather easy here. We cannot say anything about the cause of the fire, but we will analyse it thoroughly." VARIOUS OF DAMAGED HOSPITAL VARIOUS OF FIRE-FIGHTERS HOSPITAL PERSONNEL HOSPITAL
