- Story Text: New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady is back with his team and an ecstatic Rob Gronkowski told reporters on Wednesday (October 5). "He's our leader of our offence. He's a great player and it's exciting to get TB back, man!."
Brady plays his first game against the Cleveland Browns following his four game "deflate-gate" suspension.
"He looks great. Tanned, happy, pumped and we're all really excited to get to work," wide receiver Danny Amendola said surrounded by media who did not hear from Brady himself on Wednesday. The team reportedly will not make him available for questions until after the game against the Browns this Sunday. Head Coach Bill Belichick turned away questions about Brady and his absence from the team.
"Right now our focus is on Cleveland. Trying to get ready to go in Cleveland. We can't do whatever it was or wasn't the last four weeks. We're into the Cleveland week.
That's all our focus is. Not worried about last week. Not worried about next week. Not worried about last year. We're worried about this week against Cleveland. That's it. This week. Cleveland. We're focused on Cleveland this week, period.Cleveland," Belichick insisted in his news conference. Brady was suspended after the NFL discovered under-inflated footballs were used in the Patriots' 45-7 rout of the Indianapolis Colts in the January 2015 AFC championship game. The win propelled the Patriots to Super Bowl XLIX, where they beat the Seattle Seahawks, giving Brady his fourth title. Brady was suspended after a lawyer hired by the league to investigate said the quarterback had been "generally aware" that two Patriots employees had conspired to deflate the footballs, which could make them easier to grip. The quarterback has denied involvement. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
