Story Text: Former Cameroon international Rigobert Song is reported to be unconscious in hospital after suffering a cerebral attack.
A member of Song's family told the BBC Song was in Yaounde Central Hospital.
Song had spells at Metz, Liverpool, West Ham United, Lens, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor and played more than 100 games for his country, winning the African Nations Cup in 2000 and 2002.
Liverpool tweeted: "Our thoughts are with Rigobert Song and his family at this time."
He is currently coach of the Chad national team.
