The French investigation is trying to question how the leaders of Gabon, Congo Republic and Equatorial Guinea and their families could afford assets worth tens of millions of euros.
Speaking after a meeting with French President Francois Hollande, Sassou-Nguesso told reporters French justice system should keep out of other countries' affairs.
"What we want to remind everyone is simply the principle to which we have all subscribed to internationally, the non-interference in other countries' internal affairs and that this principle be respected so that French justice does not feel as if they had the right to deal with problems which are those of other countries' home affairs," Sassou-Nguesso said.
A 2007 French police probe found that Sassou-Nguesso and his family owned 24 apartments and had 112 bank accounts in the country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
