- Story Text: The 2010 Playboy Jazz Festival provided a venue for an eclectic blend of talent that ranged from new upcoming artist to legendary jazz greats.
Among the headliners for the two-day festival held at the landmark Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles over the weekend, included "The Chick Corea Freedom Band," George Benson, and "The Manhattan Transfer."
Hugh Hefner, Playboy founder and executive producer for the festival, was among those attending. He was joined by celebrities actor Jamie Foxx and Bill Cosby.
The 32nd annual Playboy Jazz Festival has become a showcase for the diversity of jazz . This weekend's lineup featured everything from straight ahead jazz to contemporary, blues to big band, salsa, and world music.
Multiple Grammy-winning bassist and musical renaissance man, Marcus Miller was among those making a return trip to the festival. Having graced well over 400 albums in his two decade career, Miller brought many to their feet at the Hollywood Bowl with his smooth bass lines.
Making their first appearance at the festival was "Naturally 7." The group has pioneered a distinct a capella style they call 'vocal play', where each member of the group uses their voice to replicate the sounds of a musical instrument.
Founded by Roger Thomas, his brother Warren, and five other singers, the group catapulted into the spotlight during 2007, when they opened for internationally acclaimed singing star Michael Bublé on his worldwide tour.
