- Story Text: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday (April 10) met with Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic near Moscow.
The meeting took place at Putin's Novo Ogoryova residence.
Putin emphasized Russia and Serbia's economic ties.
"We have a lot of large joint projects. I'm sure that your discussions with the government of the Russian Federation will be good push towards the development of economic strength," Putin said.
Dacic greeted Putin in Russian, and thanked him for his support.
"I greet you in the name of the Serbian people, and in the name of the Republic of Serbia. Thank you very much for your support, and for taking up the essential politics of Serbia concerning Kosovo," Dacic said.
On Monday (April 8) Serbia said it had rejected the most recent EU-mediated proposal on normalizing ties with Kosovo.
Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia in 2008, and has been recognized by over 90 countries, including 22 of the EU's 27 members, and the United States.
Russia also agreed to give Serbia a $500 million loan on Wednesday during Dacic's visit. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
