- Story Text: An exhibition of the royalty of the European can world was held in Paris on January 4 and 5. Prize winning Persians, Siamese and just about every other breed went on show divided into classes of more than 340. The show, sponsored by the catfood company, Whiskas, attracted breeds such as a British cream, a "Sphynx" cat, who was displayed in both the open female and the young male class, and the long-haired cream Siamese. The lesser known breeds were however, not to be outdone. Among those exhibited by some of the 19 associations taking part included the "Angora Turkish," the "Oriental Lavender," the "Oriental Red-spotted Tabby" and the "Exotic Cameo-spotted Tabby." But it seems the favourite of the viewing public was an international champion white Persian, Visby Du Fiesnet, a two-year-old who seemed proud or her red, white and blue rosettes.
