- Story Text: DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA A mass rally and street procession formed part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the African National Congress (ANC) in Dar Es Salaam, the Tanzanian capital, on Friday (8 January). The rally was attended by representatives of Africa liberation movements, the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), the Tanzanian government and diplomatic representatives based in Dar Es Salaam. Among the diplomats who addressed the mass rally was the Soviet ambassador, Yuri Yukalov. The president of the ANC, Oliver Tambo, also spoke at the rally, held at the Lumumba Adult Education Centre.
