Slovak experts warned that the on-going fall in water level will be slow, and that state of emergency should remain in force.
Komarno, the biggest Slovakian port on the Danube, has been bought to the standstill by the flood raging through Central Europe.
A couple of tourist boat were stranded on the river.
Slovakian navigation authorities have stopped the river transport until further notice.
Entrance to Komarno shipyard was closed, and workers together with firemen strengthened water barriers with sand bags.
On Wednesday (June 5), Bratislava's western district of Devin was severely flooded as nearby rivers the Morava and the Danube spilled over the barriers, bringing all traffic to a standstill and cutting off residents who have been evacuated on heavy duty army trucks.
In Central Europe's worst flooding since 2002, tens of thousands of residents had to be evacuated in areas of South Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia.
A dozen people are reported to have been killed in the region.
Water levels were falling on all Czech rivers on Thursday (June 6) while parts of Austria remained flooded.
The surge of water along the Danube is moving on downstream towards Hungary. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
