- Story Text: Film stars Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery were France's most prestigious honors for excellence in the arts on March 6. Connery, known to millions as James Bond, and Hepburn, Eliza Doolittle in the movie "My Fair Lady" were named commanders of arts and letters. Deputy culture minister Philippe De Villiers congratulated them both for "having managed to escape the stereotypes despite their worldwide fame". As De Villiers tied the green and white stripped ribbon around her neck, a teary eyed Hepburn speaking perfect French said it was the French novelist Colette, the author of "Gigi", who helped her start a film career 35 years ago. Connery appeared to be holding back the tears when he said "I'm much more moved than I thought I'd be...thank you".
