Bayern, who have narrowly failed to win the top German league, will play FC Cologne, who are facing relegation, on Saturday (May 3).
Coach Jupp Heynckes is expected to put his top players on the pitch this weekend, in a test run for the German Cup final, which they will play against Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund on May 12.
Fans watching the training session ahead of the match against Cologne felt positive about the outcome.
"No, I think that we are going to win and that we will play the right way. To try again in the defence, Timoschtschuk, I think. But I think, we will win in Cologne," Bayern Munich fan Sascha Horn said. "I think it will be something in the middle. They will try to win to not mislead the competition. I think it is likely that they win, but maybe only in the last moments, as they are not going to put in all their strength," Christian Stenzel added.
Bayern will take on English club Chelsea on May 19 in the final of the Champions League. As the match will be played in Munich, Bayern will be aiming to become the first team to win the competition at their home venue. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
