- Story Text: Zimbabweans in the capital Harare on Tuesday (July 30) said they were ready for Wednesday's (July 31) polls that pitch current President Robert Mugabe against his main political rival Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
Mugabe has has ruled the Southern Africa country for the last 33 years and plans to continue his grip on power.
Most residents in capital Harare, an opposition stronghold, said they would be voting for change.
"I registered to vote and looking forward to bring change to our country, our elections this year will be free and fair to everyone," said Disire Dongo.
"Everyone is geared for elections tomorrow and I think as a nation we are going to decide what we want as Zimbabweans," said Tendai Mapisa.
"I am happy with the preparations of elections, it's peaceful, and no violence, all is good," said Lillian Chigodora.
So far during the build-up there has been no repeat of the bloodshed and violence that followed a 2008 vote, but the process has been dogged by poor planning and allegations of irregularities, particularly in the voter registration process.
Polls open at 06:00 (04:00 GMT) on Wednesday (July 31) morning.
