- Story Text: A litter of wild piglets, thought to bring good luck in their homeland in Asia, was born early New Year's day in Berlin's Friedrichsfelde Zoo.
The two baby pigs were born a week after nine other piglets, who arrived on Christmas Day.
The wild pig, originally from China and called Meishan, are considered to be among the most intelligent creatures in the world as well as being among the friendliest.
They breed well in captivity and are kept in zoos worldwide. In Friedrichsfelde the animals are part of the exhibit on house pets. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
