Exit permits for Ghanaians wishing to leave the country have become a difficult commodity to obtain. Ghanaians gather in their thousands along with multi-national travellers at the Accra Sports Stadium to get relevant documents since the military takeover by flight Lieutenant Jerry Rawlings. At Aflao, a border town with Togo, there is another problem as traders attempt to move vital cola nut exports from the neighbouring Ivory Coast, across Ghana into Nigeria. Fleets of trucks carrying goods have also been stranded in Ghana.
