- Story Text: The body of an American tourist who was murdered in Istanbul was taken for forensic tests on Monday (February 4).
Sarai Sierra, 33, from New York was found dead in the ruins of Istanbul's old city wall and was murdered by a blow to the head, the city's police chief was quoted as saying on Sunday.
Sierra's body was taken by hearse to a forensics institute in the city and then driven away.
Her husband Steve, who identified her body late on Saturday at an Istanbul morgue, was driven to and from the forensics building in an official car.
Sierra had been travelling alone when she was reported missing on January 21.
Police are investigating the possibility that Sierra was killed elsewhere and her body moved to Sarayburnu, the area where she was found. Officers are questioning 11 people, media reports said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
