One rebel told Reuters that NATO forces had now been bombing Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's forces on the other side for four days.
"Their numbers (Gaddafi forces) vary. Some time they increase and sometimes they decrease. However, we continue to advance and move forward. We have reached Brega. After we entered about 40 or 50 kilometres inside Brega, NATO asked us (the rebels) to retreat. All the rebels retreated at that point and NATO started their airstrikes which have been continuing for the last four days. We still can hear shelling," Fathi Mukhtar said.
The frontline in eastern Libya has been static west of the town of Ajdabiyah for a week with government troops digging in and rebels attempting to train and regroup. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
