It was the last day of Mr. Genscher's Middle East tour which had also taken him to Jordan for talks. At a news conference which followed their discussions, President Mubarak called for an Arab summit to solve the Palestinian problem and the Gulf war between iran and Iraq. Mr. Genscher, sitting nest to Mr. Mubarak, said West Germany supported Egypt's call for summit. Mr. Mubarak then urged the European Community to exert pressure on the United States to begin a dialogue with the Palestinians.
