- Story Text: French football fans are confident France will make it past the 2014 World Cup group stage after they are drawn with Switzerland, Honduras, and Ecuador.
Football fans in Paris said on Friday (December 5) they were happy as France drew with Switzerland, Honduras and Ecuador in the group stage at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Les Bleus will play their first match against Honduras on June 15 in Porto Alegre, followed by Switzerland on June 20 and Ecuador on June 25.
French supporters who gathered outside a bar in Paris to watch the draw broadcast on television from Costa Do Sauipe, said they felt confident the team would succeed.
"I think it's going to be OK. I'm pretty happy, I didn't want to get caught with Spain, Germany, Netherlands or Brazil, there are too many strong teams at the moment. Now I think Dechamps (French coach) is happy, he will prepare his team. They just need to play seriously because Ecuador and even Honduras have technical prowess, given that they're from Latin America, they play well. Careful with Switzerland because we don't like really like playing against Switzerland but I think it's going to be OK," said Alexander.
"I think with willpower, France can do very very good things. Everything depends on willpower, because they have shown what they're made of, they can do things if they really want to," said Michele, a tourist from Nice.
