- Story Text: The coach of German team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim said on Wednesday (October 30) his players would be going into their match against Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich with confidence, despite the squad being plagued with injuries.
Speaking to journalists in Hoffenheim, coach Markus Gisdol said the players would give their all on Saturday (November 2) when they host the European champions.
"We know that Bayern has a great team but we also know what we can do and we want to achieve this. We want to be able to look in the mirror and say, no matter what the result is, it was what we were able to do. We don't want to withdraw or show that we have fears," he said.
But midweek the team were facing injury worries with midfielders Vincenzo Grifo and Tobias Trobl, among others, not completing the group training sessions.
But Gisdol said it was too early to be worried.
"The staffing situation is a bit strained but I am not going to make a prognosis today because it is just Wednesday and there is time until Saturday but it could be a bit tight for one or two people," he said.
Bayern beat Hertha Berlin last Saturday (October 26) to keep their place at the top of the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund just one point behind.
Hoffenheim are currently ninth in the league. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
