- Story Text: Hungarian singer Kati Wolf, who qualified for the final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest after her performance in the semi-final on Tuesday (May 10) feels she has a lot to live up to if she is to fulfill the dreams of her country.
Speaking in an interview with Reuters TV on Wednesday (May 11), Wolf said she had been nervous before walking onto the stage in the western Germany city of Duesseldorf.
"I've never been on a stage like this before and people in my country trust in me and they believe in the song. So I wanted to go to the final," she said.
However, Wolf, who was a finalist in the Hungarian version of the talent show X-Factor in 2010, says her experience on the programme has helped her cope with singing live in such a situation.
"I think it helped me a lot because it was a kind of show like this, live, you only had two or three minutes on stage but there's a big difference because in X-Factor I was singing for myself. When it was good it was good for me, and if it was bad then it was a shame but only to me. But now I represent a country and I told you that people trust in me so much and they believe that it can win," she said.
The mother of two will be singing her dance/pop song "What about my Dreams?" at Saturday's (May 14) final and, according to media reports and several online betting agencies, is among the frontrunners to be crowned as outright winner. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
