On Saturday (May 25), leaders from Africa and around the world arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa - where the AU has its headquarters - to celebrate the anniversary.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff were among the foreign dignitaries who attended.
