This is about the European ski resort and the collection starts with the girls going to ski, but it is for the city, no? So it is about pants in techno fabrics with ski boots, short jackets and scarves around the neck and also I bring in the waist up of the pants, so to create a little bit low waist. From there, I get a little more loose in clothes because the evening is about being glamorous."

- Story Text: Carolina Herrara and duo Marc Badgeley and James Mischka showed their latest creations at New York's Fashion Week.
The tents at New York Fashion week saw a dazzling show on Monday (February 9) by designer Carolina Herrera, followed by a visit by First Lady Laura Bush.
Herrera's collection for Fall 2004 was designed for the winter fashion plate - those who would frequent European ski resorts like Gstaad and St. Moritz. She mixed traditional elements of skiing with extreme luxury. Fur was plentiful in her collection, with layering visible in both day and evening.
"I am designing for the woman who wants to go to a European ski resort. This is about the European ski resort and the collection starts with the girls going to ski but it is for the city, no? So it is about pants in techno fabrics with ski boots, short jackets and scarves around the neck and also I bring in the waist up of the pants, so to create a little bit low waist. From there, I get a little more loose in clothes because the evening is about being glamorous."
For evening, graceful weightless silhouettes were fashioned with organza and chiffon, to contrast rich sumptuous velvet. Gold leaf embellishes were in plenty on jackets, furs, cashmere and even on evening gowns.
Design duo Marc Badgley and James Mischka's look for Fall 2004 was tailored and elegant. Their colors were subtle and perfect fall colors in browns, blacks and shades of red. Fabrics that dominated the collection included wool, silk and tweed, providing plenty of texture to the clothes. Skirt suits and long evening dresses dominated the look for their Fall 2004 collections.
