- Story Text: A day after an election victory that gave France its first Socialist president in 17 years, a relaxed president-elect appeared on his balcony on Monday (May 7) to greet supporters and media who had gathered outside.
Also seen at Hollande's campaign headquarters were party members Manuel Valls and Pierre Moscovici.
Hollande will be sworn in as France's new president on May 15, an official at outgoing President Nicolas Sarkozy's office said on Monday.
