- Story Text: Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has come to terms over the sale of some items due to be sold in an art and memorabilia auction, according to his ex-wife, Jo Wood. She was at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills on Monday (October 15) to preview the sale, which includes furniture, Rolling Stones memorabilia, and her ex-husband's drawings.
"It's all fine now. We're all fine now. He's a bit of a hoarder, so when he saw everything there, he was like...but, no, we're all fine. We sorted it all out," said Jo Wood. When the sale was announced in September, Ron Wood had released a statement saying that the auction was not a joint sale as advertised and that some of the items were not Jo's to sell.
The collection features memorabilia spanning four decades from the guitarist's work with the Rolling Stones and his earlier association with the band Faces, as well as his solo career.
High-ticket lots include a Fender Stratocaster guitar, valued at 50 - 60,000 dollars and a bronze statue by Dame Elisabeth Frink valued at 65 - 85,000 dollars.
Also on the auction block are various drawings by Ron Wood, featuring Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan, and range in price from 800 - 1,200 dollars.
"So much of the stuff we got years ago and we moved with it to the next house and to the next house. Kind of sad, but it's also very liberating to get rid of it all," said Jo Wood.
Jo and Ron Wood separated in 2008 and finalized their divorce in 2011, after 24 years of marriage. The auction of their belongings will take place on October 27 and is estimated to earn between 300,000 and 500,000 dollars. Jo Wood said a portion of the sale will go to the Grammy music charity, MusiCares. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
